High-gloss resin (benzene-soluble) is a high-performance, versatile chemical raw material. Based on its properties, it can be divided into two major categories: non-reactive or neutral polyamide and reactive polyamide. Neutral polyamide.
Product Functions:
Widely used in inks and hot melt adhesives.
1. Thermosetting polyamide adhesives are employed for strong material bonding due to their resistance to dry cleaning, harsh detergents, bleaches, and high-temperature washing conditions in laundries and households, coupled with high fabric adhesion strength and ease of use. They are also utilized in heat-shrinkable cable sleeves for their essential bonding strength and excellent moisture resistance.
2. Neutral polyamides are primarily used in manufacturing inks, heat-sealable adhesives, and coatings. Reactive polyamides serve as epoxy resin curing agents and are utilized in thermosetting surface coatings, adhesives, linings, can sealing, and molded cast resins.
3. Neutral dimer acid polyamide resins exhibit excellent adhesion on substrates like polyethylene, making them particularly suitable for printing on plastic films such as polyethylene packaging films and metal foil composite laminates.
4. Inks formulated with neutral polyamide resins feature high gloss, strong adhesion, excellent alcohol dilutability, low gelation, fast drying, and low odor.
Other applications of neutral polyamide resins include preparing thixotropic coatings, civil water-based adhesives, fabric antistatic agents, transparent candles, and detergents.
5. Reactive polyamide resins undergo further reaction to serve as curing agents for epoxy resins, producing extensive cross-linking to form thermosetting resins. When used as a curing agent, it offers advantages such as high compatibility, room-temperature curing capability, and flexibility without brittleness. It imparts excellent adhesion, flexural strength, toughness, chemical resistance, moisture resistance, and surface finish to epoxy resins.
6. Dimer acid amide resin-epoxy resin is used as an adhesive, surface coating, can sealing material, and mold casting resin. This adhesive exhibits excellent wetting properties, high bonding strength, and good internal plasticity, withstanding greater impact forces than amine-cured epoxy resins. It serves as a seam adhesive for metals, a welding agent and gap filler for plastics and automotive bodies, and a structural adhesive for metal-to-metal bonding.
7. Epoxy resins cured with dimerized acid-based polyamides exhibit outstanding properties including flexibility, chemical resistance, salt corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and high gloss. They are widely used as surface coatings.
