Kristalex® 5140 resin is a hydrocarbon resin synthesized from pure monomer resins. It is water-white in color, exhibits excellent thermal stability, and possesses a low softening point. When used as a tackifying resin in hot melt adhesive systems, it enhances cohesive strength without compromising initial tack. Currently, this product is primarily employed in adhesive products intended for food contact or human contact.

Features
Pure monomer resin Kristalex® 5140 is a low molecular weight polymer compatible with various plastics and rubbers. It exhibits resistance to acids, alkalis, moisture, oils, and oxidation, ensuring exceptional quality stability.
High color stability (excellent anti-yellowing properties), outstanding heat resistance, low odor, enhances cohesion within the compound and strength of TPE rubber, and improves flow properties.
Application
1. Pure monomer resin serves as a processing aid for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). During processing, it accelerates plasticization, lowers plasticization temperature and extrusion resistance, and improves flowability. Widely used in the processing of transparent PVC sheets and rigid products, it maintains and enhances physical properties, increases filler loading, and improves surface finish and color stability.
2. This product also serves as a modifier for various adhesives, coatings, and thermoplastic polymers, enhancing product properties and processability.
3. In the rubber industry, it functions as a processing aid and reinforcing modifier. It is used to adjust the hardness of chloroprene rubber, nitrile/PVC blends, and natural rubber, while improving the tear resistance and abrasion resistance of vulcanized rubber.
4. This product can replace low-molecular-weight waxes in color masterbatches for ABS, styrene, and other plastics.
5. When used in rubber and plastic foam products, it promotes flow, gelation, and increased filler loading. It enhances foam expansion ratio and color stability while reinforcing physical properties, tear resistance, and elongation.
Kristalex 5140 typically synergizes with C5 in adhesives to improve hot melt temperature resistance and cohesion.
Kristalex 5140 can be directly blended with TPE compounds to enhance TPE compound flowability, as well as the adhesion and strength of TPE overmolding.
