III. Product Characteristics:
Superior Weather Resistance: Hydrogenated modification provides excellent resistance to yellowing and aging, ensuring no fading or degradation during long-term outdoor use.
Strong Compatibility: Perfectly compatible with acrylic resins, polyurethanes, rubber, and other materials, with no delamination or sedimentation.
Outstanding Adhesion: Significantly enhances the bonding strength between coatings, adhesives, and substrates, preventing peeling.
Environmentally Friendly & Low Odor: Low VOC content with no pungent odor, compliant with green production standards;
High Stability: Excellent thermal and chemical stability, maintaining consistent performance during storage and use.
IV. Product Applications:
1. Paints
Paints primarily utilize high-softening-point C9 petroleum resins, DCPD resins, and C5/C9 copolymer resins. Incorporating petroleum resins into paint formulations enhances gloss, improves film adhesion and hardness, and boosts acid and alkali resistance.
2. Rubber
Rubber applications mainly employ low-softening-point C5 petroleum resins, C5/C9 copolymer resins, and DCPD resins. These resins exhibit excellent miscibility with natural rubber particles and have minimal impact on the vulcanization process. Incorporating petroleum resins into rubber serves to increase tackiness, provide reinforcement, and impart flexibility. Specifically, the addition of C5/C9 copolymer resins not only enhances interparticle adhesion but also improves the bond between rubber particles and cord fabric, making them suitable for high-performance rubber products like radial tires.
3. Adhesive Industry
Petroleum resins exhibit excellent adhesive properties. Incorporating them into adhesives and pressure-sensitive tapes enhances bonding strength, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and water resistance while effectively reducing production costs.
4. Ink Industry
Petroleum resins used in inks primarily include high-softening-point C9 petroleum resins and DCPD resins. Incorporating petroleum resins into ink formulations facilitates color development, accelerates drying, enhances brightness, and improves printing performance.
5. Coatings Industry
For road marking and line painting coatings, petroleum resins exhibit excellent adhesion to concrete or asphalt surfaces, along with superior abrasion resistance and water resistance. They possess good affinity with inorganic materials, enabling easy application, excellent weather resistance, fast drying, and high durability. Additionally, they improve the physical and chemical properties of the coating, enhancing UV resistance and weatherability. Currently, petroleum resin road marking paints are increasingly becoming mainstream, with demand rising annually.
6. Other Applications
Resins possess a degree of unsaturation, making them suitable for use as paper sizing agents, plastic modifiers, and similar applications.
