Features
1. PVDF exhibits excellent chemical corrosion resistance, outstanding high-temperature color stability, and superior oxidation resistance.
2. PVDF possesses excellent abrasion resistance, flexibility, high tensile strength, and impact resistance.
3. PVDF demonstrates excellent resistance to ultraviolet radiation and high-energy radiation.
Application
PVDF applications are primarily concentrated in three major sectors: petrochemicals, electronics and electrical engineering, and fluorocarbon coatings. Due to its excellent chemical resistance, processability, fatigue resistance, and creep resistance, PVDF is one of the ideal materials for manufacturing pumps, valves, pipelines, pipe fittings, storage tanks, and heat exchangers—either as complete systems or as linings—within fluid handling systems for petrochemical equipment. PVDF's outstanding chemical stability and electrical insulation properties enable equipment manufactured from it to meet TOCS and flame-retardant requirements. It is extensively used in the semiconductor industry for storing and transporting high-purity chemicals. In recent years, porous membranes, gels, and separators made from PVDF resin have found applications in lithium secondary batteries, making this one of the fastest-growing markets for PVDF demand. PVDF is a primary raw material for fluorocarbon coatings, with formulations based on it now reaching the sixth generation. Due to PVDF resin's exceptional weather resistance, these coatings can withstand long-term outdoor use without maintenance and are extensively applied in power plants, airports, highways, and high-rise buildings. Additionally, PVDF resin can be blended and modified with other resins. For instance, PVDF blended with ABS resin creates composite materials widely used in construction, automotive interiors, and appliance housings. It is also employed in molding chemical machinery components, sealing materials, electrical insulation, and anti-corrosion coatings, as well as in the production of ion exchange membranes and capacitor films.
