Application/Uses
Mainly used as PVC adhesive, paint raw material, anti-corrosion, fireproof coating and special resin for various coatings; it can be used to replace chlorinated rubber to make adhesive; it can also be used as modifier of adhesive, and can also be used as chlorosulfonated polyethylene and chlorination Use of rubber instead of resin.
Application of high chlorinated polyethylene in anticorrosive coatings
Due to the regular structure, saturation, low polarity, and good chemical stability of chlorinated rubber, various anticorrosive coatings prepared with it have the characteristics of fast drying of the coating film, good adhesion, excellent resistance to chemical media, and resistance to moisture penetration.
Highly chlorinated polyethylene HCPE has excellent resistance to atmospheric aging and chemical media resistance, generally dissolved into 40% solids resin solution is more suitable for paint use. Most of the industrially produced high-chlorinated polyethylene in China adopts the water phase method. The chlorination process uses water as the medium, the production cost is low, it is harmless to the ecological environment, and has various excellent properties similar to chlorinated rubber. In recent years, with the gradual maturity of HCPE's aqueous suspension chlorination process technology, the development and application of domestic HCPE products have developed rapidly. The packaging can be constructed in a low temperature environment. The construction conditions are simple, and it can be brushed, rolled or sprayed. The paint film can be dried by itself, and the drying speed is fast, usually it can be dried in 30 minutes, hard in 6 hours, hard in 24 hours. By using HCPE instead of chlorinated rubber to prepare anti-corrosion coatings, anti-corrosion coatings with properties similar to chlorinated rubber anti-corrosion paints can be obtained. Especially suitable for protective coatings for storage tanks, bridges, large-scale steel structure equipment. It can also reduce production costs and improve construction safety. Nowadays, in the coating industry, high-chlorinated polyethylene paint HCPE has become a good alternative to chlorinated rubber. Easily soluble in organic solvents such as aromatic hydrocarbons, esters and ketones.
